Dr. Stout grew up in Fort Worth, Texas. He attended Brigham Young University, where he graduated with a bachelor’s of science in Exercise Science and a minor in Spanish. He received his doctor of optometry degree from the University of Houston College of Optometry, where he graduated magna cum laude. Before leading the ACVC team, Dr. Stout worked at a private practice in Grand Prairie for seven years where he cared for both children and adults. He is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Texas Optometric Association. Dr. Stout is fluent in Spanish. He lived in Mexico for 2 years and loves Mexican food and culture. He enjoys hiking, camping, serving in his church, and spending time with his wife and four children.
Dr. Hicks, whose early years were spent growing up in Mississippi, brings a dedicated and compassionate approach to practicing optometry. She graduated from Christian Brother University with a Bachelor's Degree in Biochemistry. She received her doctorate from the University of the Incarnate Word Rosenberg School of Optometry in 2020. After graduation, she worked as an associate optometrist at a central Fort Worth private practice, caring for many of the Fort Worth ISD children in that role. Her clinical rotations in school included a neuro-vision focused clinic with expertise in binocular vision disorders, as well as the Community Eye Clinic Fort Worth where she managed ocular disease and comprehensive eye care for all ages. She is an active member of the Tarrant County Optometric Society, Texas Optometric Association, and American Optometric Association. She loves spending time with family and friends near and far, as well as her sweet puppy Willow.
Dr. Cruz attended Ole Miss where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology, and a minor in Chemistry. She received her doctorate degree from the University of Houston College of Optometry, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. After which she completed a Residency in Pediatric Eye Care at the University Eye Institute. Her residency training focused on clinical experience in pediatric optometry including: routine vision care of infants and preschool children, the evaluation, management, and co-management of binocular vision anomalies, the evaluation and management of multiply-challenged children, children with learning difficulties and developmental disorders, as well as patients with acquired brain injuries. She is fluent in Spanish and is an active member of the Texas Optometric Association and American Optometric Association. Dr. Cruz enjoys spending time with her husband in the great outdoors, and spoiling her 3 dogs and 4 chickens.
Mischa has worked in the eye care industry since 2007. She has been in private practice and corporate settings, and most recently in non-profit working with the Community Eye Clinic in downtown Fort Worth. She has served in many roles including optometric technician, insurance specialist, and administrative support. She is a Certified Paraoptometric Technician through the American Optometric Association. She is married and enjoys spending time with her children and family. She loves travel and creative projects.
Caity has worked as an optometric technician in both private practice and corporate settings in the Fort Worth area since 2013. She is familiar with the administrative side of optometric practice as well, having provided this support in her last position. She received her Certified Paraoptometric Technician through the American Optometric Association in November of 2022, and is working towards her next level of certification. She also enjoys helping with optical. She is passionate about serving the vision care needs of her patients, and especially the pediatric patients in Fort Worth ISD with the highest standard of care. She enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter.
Brenda is a Fort Worth native and has worked in the optometric field since 2018. She joined the Alcon Children’s Vision Center team in 2023 and provides care in various roles including Reception Desk, Optometric Technician, and Optical. She is passionate about pediatric eye care and loves helping kids reach their full potential. Brenda is fluent in Spanish and is currently working toward her Paraoptometric Technician Certification through the American Optometric Association. When she is not working she enjoys spending time with her five children, and her dogs.
Courtney has worked in the eye care industry since 1995 serving as an optician or administrator in both private practice and corporate settings. She is certified by the American Board of Opticianry. She is from Watauga, Texas and has a passion for serving her community. She has also lent her professional optician skills while serving as a volunteer on the Lenscrafters Vision Van and on a Lions Club mission trip providing eye care for the under-served. She is excited to care for the Fort Worth pediatric eye care and optical needs. She enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter when not at work.
Presciliana is a passionate advocate for children’s vision care in FWISD. As the Vision Health Partnerships Coordinator, she works closely with the ACVC team to direct initiatives to enhance access to vision services for FWISD students. Presciliana received a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Texas Arlington and a Master’s degree of Legal Studies in Risk Management and Compliance from Texas A&M. She has 22 years of professional experience in Public Education, where she has had the opportunity to collaborate with community partners and administrative leadership teams to develop systems that foster and provide services designed to support well-rounded education programs. She works to reduce health-related barriers and empower students and their families with the knowledge and skills needed to excel and achieve lifelong health and wellness.
